Dishwasher repairs across Nottingham

A dishwasher that leaves the plates greasy, sits in a puddle or won’t get hot quickly turns into a sink full of pots. We fix dishwashers that won’t drain, fill, heat or dry, leak, stop part-way, show error codes, or have a door that won’t latch. Built-in or freestanding, anywhere we cover in and around Nottingham.

A leak can come from the door seal, a hose, the pump, the drain or a joint inside, and they all look the same on the floor. If it’s leaking, stop using it, turn off its water supply if you safely can, and leave the kick board and cabinet door where they are.

Before you book, only clean the filter if your manual says it’s a routine job. Then note whether the machine fills, drains and gets to the end of a programme. That tells the engineer where to start.

Common dishwasher faults.

One symptom can have several causes. The engineer tests before recommending a part, so you only pay for what’s actually needed.

  1. Dishwasher not draining

Dirty water left in the base after the programme ends. Usually a blockage somewhere along the drain route.

    Usual causes
A blocked filter, broken glass or food in the drain pump, a kinked drain hose, a blocked sink trap or waste spigot, or a failed drain pump.
    Safe to check first
Lift out and rinse the filter in the base. If it shares a waste pipe with the sink, check the sink drains freely too.
    Codes you might see
Bosch, Siemens and Neff show E24 for a blocked drain and E25 for a blocked drain pump. LG shows OE. Tell us the exact code on yours.

  2. Dishwasher leaking

Water under the kitchen units can do real damage. Switch the dishwasher off and turn off its water supply if you can reach it safely.

    Usual causes
A worn door seal, a cracked spray arm, too much foam, a leaking pump or heater seal, or a loose hose connection behind the unit.
    Safe to check first
Only use dishwasher detergent: washing-up liquid makes foam that pours out of the door. Check the door seal for food or damage.
    Codes you might see
Bosch, Siemens and Neff show E15 when the leak sensor in the base has tripped. LG shows AE, and Samsung LC. Tell us the exact code on yours.

  3. Dishwasher not heating

Dishes come out cold, wet or still dirty. Without hot water the detergent can’t do its job.

    Usual causes
A failed heater or heat pump, a faulty temperature sensor, low water flow, or a control fault.
    Safe to check first
Eco programmes run cooler and for longer by design, so test it on a hotter wash. Clean the filter and spray arms while you’re at it.
    Codes you might see
Bosch, Siemens and Neff show E09 for a heating fault, and LG shows HE. Tell us the exact code on yours.

  4. Something else wrong with the dishwasher?

Won’t start, won’t fill, stops mid-wash or leaves a gritty film? Tell us the make, the programme and what you’ve noticed.

    Usual causes
Inlet valves, door switches, spray arms, circulation pumps and control boards, plus hard-water scale on older machines.
    Safe to check first
Make sure the water tap is on and the door clicks shut. Keep the rinse aid and salt topped up if your machine uses them.

How we price a dishwasher repair. No surprises.

Two separate figures, both agreed with you before any work, and the last word is always yours.

  1. Labour

    Fixed, and shown online.

One figure for finding the fault and doing the repair, based on the appliance, how it’s fitted and your postcode.

  2. Parts

    Only if one’s needed.

The engineer tells you what and how much first, using genuine or OEM parts wherever possible.

  3. Your call

    Fix it, or don’t.

If age, condition or the total bill means a new dishwasher makes more sense, you’ll hear it before any parts are ordered.

Hard water, dirty dishes and getting to the machine

Hard water is common across much of the Nottingham area, and limescale builds up on spray arms and heaters over time. Keep the salt and rinse aid topped up if your machine takes them. Let us know when the problem started, any error code, and whether dishes come out cold, wet or still dirty.

For a built-in dishwasher, tell us about the cabinet door and anything that makes it awkward to slide out, like a kick board or a new floor. The labour price covers the fitting type you choose, and any part is priced first and fitted only once you agree.

What you can count on.

The same three things on every job, whichever appliance it is.

  • Quick when we can be

Same-day or next-day visits whenever an engineer is free near you. We’ll always tell you the real first slot.

  • Trained and kitted out

Experienced engineers with stocked vans, carrying the tools and the parts that fail most often.

  • Proper parts

Genuine or OEM parts wherever possible. If the right one is on the van, the job can be finished there and then.

Dishwasher repair questions

What does dishwasher repair cost in Nottingham?

The labour price shows on screen once you’ve picked the appliance, make, fitting and postcode. It covers the diagnosis and the repair. Any part is priced on top and only fitted with your go-ahead.

Can you fix a dishwasher hidden behind a kitchen door?

Yes. Integrated dishwashers are a big part of what we do. Choose the integrated option and the price allows for taking it out and refitting it. Let us know about kick boards or tiled floors in the way.

Why is there water on the floor under my dishwasher?

It could be a worn door seal, a split hose, the pump or a blocked drain. Stop using it, turn off the water if you can, and book a visit. The engineer will find the leak before recommending anything.
